The Hunger Games is probably one of the best movies i have ever seen, well, not because i really love all the books, but because of the way how the actors/actresses portray each individual character so powerfully. (especially jennifer lawrence whos acting skills are amazing gorgeous). The screen play, scripts, anticipation, acting, casting, etc. are also reasons why one can get so addicted to it. I would give the movie a 9/10 if it were just a movie on its own. However, since it is a book to movie adaptation, i would probably give it a 8/10 for it.
Maybe its just me, but i really feel that they left out quite a couple of scenes which could add more flavour and juiciness into the story. and somethings that were changed.. well, i dont really favour that. Why would i say that it is one of the most addictive movies of all time? Simply because every scene is filled with anticipation that can capture the viewers attention like BAM! the way how one scene leads to another is just wow. it just has that ‘i want to come back to it again and again’ feel. such a wonderfully written movie.
Like i said, I think The Hunger Games is not all about killing and gore and all that kinda stuff, but it also revolves around the ‘love and care’ theme which really touches peoples hearts. like for example, during rue’s death, it really got me emotional because it really shows us that The Hunger Games is not all about just ruthless killing. but also about cherishing others.
Suzanne Collins has not only ‘copied’ similar movies with similar themes like ‘Battle Royal’ and ‘The Running Man’ but i feel that shes really writing about whats happening around the world today, how sadistic people can be and how cruel the rich treat the poor. (Not in means of killing but just plain cruel and sadistic). This really made me reflect.
For those who have not seen the movie, GO. AND. WATCH. IT. RIGHT. NOW. Oh! Huge thanks to the music composer for the score of The Hunger Games. His music for it just made me bawl my eyes out and make me go all hyper haha! 🙂
